It was a busy weekend for Momentum athletes in Arizona. Saturday, January 30th held both the UA Criterium and also the White Tanks MBAA race.

Chloe Forsman won both the women’s Collegiate criterium and also the women’s Pro/1/2 race. This event was 100% organized and operated by the UA Cycling Club who did a fantastic job with the event. It was great to see a large turnout and sunny skies for this road season opener.

Ron Jensen won the Cat 1 XC event at the White Tanks MBAA race. Early in the first lap he was able to solidify a gap and continued to improve on it throughout the race. By the finish line he had established a healthy margin of victory.

Though the season is still very early it’s nice to see that riders are performing well and doing a good job with establishing their foundations for the season ahead. I’m excited to follow their progress, especially once the bigger races draw nearer and the training becomes more specific.

Momentum riders got the early season started with the MBAA opener at McDowell on January 10th. Troy and Ron earned podium spots, while Ben and I got rid of some back luck for the season. Flat tires aren’t fun, but never the less it was a great day on bikes for all. Here’s to an excellent 2010 season!
